Our Installation Process

Size the Space: Measure the entire measurement of the straight walls in your space. For instance, you might need one 12-foot strip of crown molding to trim each short wall, and a pair of 8-foot sections for each large wall, especially in a 165 square foot area that has two 15-foot walls and another two 11-foot walls.

Crown molding should be cut: To begin the process, the crown molding piece needs to be measured and marked before cutting. While a manual miter box and saw is used for employed for miter-cutting crown molding, using a powered miter saw is recommended as the cuts tend to be more precise.

Clean up the Wood: Usually, the majority of molding already comes featuring a paint primer, but should you opt for unpainted raw wood molding, you should use a coat of primer to the wood then let it cure for no less than an hour before installing it onto the wall.

Locate and mark the wall studs: Use a stud finder and a pencil to identify and mark the wall studs on the wall surface, positioning the marks several inches beneath the wall/ceiling connection. These marks will serve as a reference while nailing the crown molding pieces together.

Fit the crown molding in place: Before installing the crown molding to the wall, invert it so that it is in an upright position. Enlist an assistant to aid you in positioning the molding on a second ladder and managing it while you start. Commence from the middle of the wall.

Caulk Holes: Gaps may periodically appear along the molding and the walls and ceiling, because rarely are these walls and ceilings perfectly even. To resolve these spaces, it's possible to fill them up by using a bead of flexible, paintable caulk along them. Any leftover gaps at the mitered corners can also be rectified with caulk.

Painting the Molding: If you haven't yet painted them, put painter's tape at the top and bottom edges of the moldings at the points where they meet the wall and ceiling.

Strafford County is a county in the U.S. state of New Hampshire. As of the 2020 census, the population was 130,889. Its county seat is Dover. Strafford County was one of the five original counties identified for New Hampshire in 1769. It was named after William Wentworth, 2nd Earl of Strafford in the mistaken belief that he was the ancestor of governor John Wentworth – although they were distantly related, William had no descendants. The county was organized at Dover in 1771. In 1840, the size of the original county was reduced with the creation of Belknap County.
