Our Installation Process

Size the Space: Determine the total length of all the linear walls in the area. To illustrate, you might need one 12-foot strip of crown molding to cover every short wall, and two 8-foot sections for every long wall, especially in a 165 sq. ft. room with two 15-foot walls and two 11-foot walls.

Crown molding should be cut: To begin the process, the crown molding piece must be measured and indicated for cutting. Even though a manual miter saw is used for employed for miter-cutting crown molding, using a powered miter saw can be preferred as cuts will be more exact.

Clean up the Wood: Usually, the majority of molding is already equipped featuring a paint primer, but if you happen to be using unpainted raw wood molding, it's advisable to apply a coat of primer to the wood then allow it to cure for at least an hour before installing it onto the wall.

Locate and mark the wall studs: Use a stud finder and a pencil to identify and mark each wall stud on the wall surface, positioning the marks a few inches below the wall/ceiling connection. These labels will serve as a reference when nailing the crown molding pieces together.

Fit the crown molding in place: Preceding installing the crown molding to the wall, turn it over so that it is in an upright position. Recruit an assistant to help you in aligning the molding on a second ladder and managing it while you proceed. Commence from the middle of the wall.

Caulk Holes: Gaps and spaces may periodically arise along the molding and both the walls and ceiling, because infrequently are these walls and ceilings perfectly flat. To address these spaces, you can fill them up by applying a bead of flexible, paintable caulk along them. Any leftover gaps at the mitered corners are also filled with caulk.

Painting the Molding: If you haven't already applied paint to them, put painter's tape along the upper and lower sections of the moldings at the points where they meet both the wall and ceiling.

Essex County is a county in the northeastern part of the U.S. state of Massachusetts. At the 2020 census, the total population was 809,829, making it the third-most populous county in the state, and the seventy-eighth-most populous in the country. It is part of the Greater Boston area (the Boston–Cambridge–Newton, MA–NH Metropolitan Statistical Area). The largest city in Essex County is Lynn. The county was named after the English county of Essex. It has two traditional county seats: Salem and Lawrence. Prior to the dissolution of the county government in 1999, Salem had jurisdiction over the Southern Essex District, and Lawrence had jurisdiction over the Northern Essex District, but currently these cities do not function as seats of government. However, the county and the districts remain as administrative regions recognized by various governmental agencies, which gathered vital statistics or disposed of judicial case loads under these geographic subdivisions, and are required to keep the records based on them. The county has been designated the Essex National Heritage Area by the National Park Service.
